Dedicated to my friend…this post will surely bring a smile to her face. A very great thanks to the people of Italy to bring out some tasty flavors and saving us from our daily boring foods. Originated in Naples, Italy, pizza or [pittsa] is a flatbread generally topped with tomato sauce and cheese and baked in oven. A popular contemporary legend holds that the archetypal pizza, Pizza margherita, was invented in 1889, when the Royal Palace of Campodimonte commissioned the Neapolitan pizzaiolo(pizza maker) to make a pizza in honor of Queen Margherita. The queen liked one of their pie pizzas, and thus margherita got its name from the queen’s name. There are very wide varieties of pizza available depending upon the area, country, culture etc. each adding it’s own flavor to create a better taste. Well many of us don’t know that October is made the national pizza month in America and Canada. We really don’t need reasons to have a pizza. So indulge in this great piece of art and enjoy your very own.
